A dust-free eraser is a vinyl eraser formulated so its crumbs cling together instead of scattering across the drawing.
It erases harder and cleaner than a kneadable one, which is what you want for graphite on smooth paper, technical drawing and anything that has to come back to true white. The trade-off is abrasion: on soft or textured paper, work lightly.
