Erasing Shield

Erasing Shield.

A drawing template is a sheet of plastic cut with standard shapes, so every circle, square or symbol on the drawing is identical to every other one.

Freehand shapes make a technical drawing look approximate even when the measurements are right. Keep the template clean and let ink dry before moving it — dragging a template across a wet line is the fastest way to ruin a finished sheet.

• Identical shapes every time, unlike freehand
• Let ink dry before lifting or sliding the template
• Wipe it clean — dried ink transfers to the next drawing
